Q4 event season is one of the best times of year to be in B2B marketing. The booth is busy, the conversations are flowing and your scan list grows by the hour. Better still, the budget is already spent, so every lead that turns into a deal before December closes is pure upside.
Our APAC team just got back from B2B Marketing Leaders Forum ASIA in Singapore, and we came home buzzing. Two days of conversations with senior marketers from across the region left us with a full list and a clear reminder: the event is only the start. What you do in the next few weeks decides how much revenue it brings in before the year ends, and a clear plan makes all the difference.
Because there's no next quarter to catch up in. A lead from a spring event has months to mature. Leads captured in October and November have a few short weeks before budgets lock, holidays hit and decision-makers disappear until January.
Sponsored events also bring a very different list from hosted ones. At a hosted event, the room is full of customers and warm, late-stage prospects. A sponsored event is a busy booth, a stack of badge scans and quick conversations with people at every stage of the buying journey. That mix is full of potential, but only if you sort it fast.
A badge scan tells you someone stopped by. It doesn't tell you who signs off on budget, who'll use the product day to day, or who could stall the deal in procurement. Buying groups can involve 10 to 20 stakeholders, according to Anteriad's 2026 B2B Marketing Edge report, so a single scan rarely represents the real opportunity.
The data needs attention too. Almost half of marketers (48%) report issues with data quality and reliability, according to the same report, and event lists are among the worst offenders. Handwritten job titles, personal Gmail addresses and badges scanned in a rush all add up. When sales gets a list they don't trust, it sits untouched.
Singapore didn’t hold back. Over two days, our APAC team spoke with marketers at every level, from Marketing Managers to CMOs, with a strong showing from financial services. The same challenges came up again and again. Many feel B2B marketing has gone stale, content fatigue is real, and with 2027 looking uncertain, everyone wants to know how to stand out in a crowded market.
AI was on every agenda. So was a sharper question about which KPIs actually matter and whether strategies are built around them. Marketers were especially curious about content syndication and AI-personalized email that stops the same message landing in everyone’s inbox.
Those conversations matter for follow-up too. A generic “great to meet you” email sent to every badge scan is exactly the kind of sameness the room was tired of. Event follow-up should be personal, useful and measured on pipeline and revenue, not on how many scans you collected.
We were thrilled to reconnect with so many clients and meet plenty of new faces. Our Anteriad figurines found lots of new homes, too, and we’re already planning a bigger presence next year.
Here's our checklist. It's free and there's no form to fill in, so take it and use it whether you work with us or not.
The checklist works. It also takes hours most marketing teams don't have in the busiest quarter of the year, and that's exactly when event leads need the most attention.
Our people take that pressure off. Our data team verifies and enriches your event capture against more than 467 million verified contacts, so the names that reach sales are ones they can trust. From there, BDR-as-a-Service for Events handles qualification against your criteria before any follow-up call goes out. Same event, same budget, with a lot more hands making sure every lead gets a fair shot before December.
We're proud of how far that goes, too. It works across North America, EMEA and APAC, in 30 languages, so your follow-up doesn't get weaker the further an event is from head office.
The best time to plan next year's follow-up is while this year's lessons are fresh. Before your next sponsored event:
With the list you already have. Your Q4 events are paid for, the conversations have happened, and there's still time to turn them into revenue. Take the checklist, share it with sales today, and give every lead the follow-up it deserves.
Want a hand at making the most of it? Talk to our team about your Q4 event follow-up. We'd love to help you finish the year strong.
